HUALALAI, HI
Californian cuisine with Italian influence, casual; gluten-free menu
We dined at The Beach Tree at the Four Seasons twice because it consistently impressed us. Nestled along a picturesque stretch of the Kailua-Kona coast, the restaurant offers stunning ocean views and a relaxed, open-air design with a partially covered dining area just steps from the beach.
The Beach Tree provides a substantial gluten-free menu that mirrors the regular offerings, making it easy for guests with dietary restrictions to enjoy the same variety. A separate vegan menu is also available. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable about celiac disease and cross-contamination precautions, which made dining there worry-free for those avoiding gluten.
During our visits we sampled a range of dishes: house-made chips served with salsa and guacamole, a classic caprese salad, a turkey burger with potato fries, mahi-mahi tacos, a nutrient-packed superfood salad, and even a simple hot dog with fries. Everything we tried was fresh and well prepared, reflecting both Californian and Italian influences in flavor and presentation.
The restaurant’s beachfront location, combined with attentive service and inclusive menu options, makes it an excellent choice for casual meals, families, and guests with special dietary needs. The atmosphere is relaxed yet refined, suitable for a daytime lunch after beach activities or a leisurely dinner at sunset.
