Chamber Model Features

The main difference between chamber models and conventional countertop units is where the bag is placed during sealing. Conventional machines evacuate air from the outside of the bag while the package remains outside the unit. Chamber models place the pouch inside an internal chamber, allowing you to seal liquid-filled bags without displacing or boiling the contents.

This works because the vacuum removes air from the chamber as well as the pouch, so there’s no external pressure pushing on the bag. Chamber machines also achieve a deeper vacuum—typically 27–29 inHg compared with 24–26 inHg from many external-seal units.

Chamber units use powerful, air-cooled pumps that can run for extended periods and require shorter or no cooldown time between cycles. They also offer more versatile programming options. These capabilities mean chamber sealers are larger, heavier, and generally more expensive than compact models, but they’re worth the investment if you need a reliable workhorse.

Operational Settings

A large red power switch on the left side turns the VP210 on; a corresponding light on the control panel indicates power. The control panel uses soft-touch buttons: press ‘Set’ to toggle between ‘Vacuum’ and ‘Sealing’ modes, and adjust times with the Up/Down arrows to fine-tune vacuum duration and seal time for a secure closure.

Cooling time is adjusted the same way. For faster processing, use the included filler plates to reduce the chamber volume so less air must be evacuated; remove them when accommodating larger pouches.

Press ‘Stop’ at any time during vacuuming to immediately close the pouch. The machine remembers the last settings used, so you don’t have to reprogram it with each cycle. To operate, position a filled bag with its edge across the seal bar, close the lid, and the unit will begin the cycle automatically. The lid remains locked during processing and opens when the cycle finishes. Note: the lid-lock feature is intended for storage only and should not be used while the machine is operating.

Construction and Details

The front-mounted control panel shows process lights and a digital timer that displays the selected function or cycle time in seconds. A large analog gauge indicates chamber pressure. The dry, two-cylinder pump is oil-free and maintenance-free while still delivering the power needed for continuous operation.

The 10-inch heat bar uses a double wire for a broad, dependable seal and is removable for easy cleaning. A clear lid lets you monitor the sealing process, and the stainless-steel exterior and chamber are durable and simple to wipe clean with a damp cloth.

The supplied polyethylene pouches are puncture-resistant, BPA-free, and FDA approved; they are safe for boiling, freezing, microwaving, refrigeration, and sous-vide cooking. The machine measures approximately 14 x 20 x 15 inches with a chamber interior of about 11.25 x 15.25 x 5 inches, accepts pouches up to 10 inches wide, and weighs roughly 72 pounds.

The VacMaster VP210 includes a one-year warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship.
